Obituary, Constance Cooke Kinsey

 

Millbrook – Constance Cooke Kinsey passed away peacefully at her home in Millbrook under hospice care on September 19th, 2017. Known to her friends as Connie, she was born on July 3, 1924 in Los Angeles to Edwin and Constance Cooke. Dr. Kinsey received a BA from UCLA as a young woman and a PhD from Washington State University after her children were grown.

Education was one of her many great loves, and she followed a life-long career as an elementary school teacher at a number institutions including Beauvoir School at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, eventually retiring from Dutchess Day School at the age of 79.

Connie was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook for many decades, and her deep faith shown through in her love of family and friends. Connie’s husband of nearly 65 years, Doug Kinsey, predeceased her. She is survived by five children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook, NY, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
