CALENDAR NOTE:  An early dismissal drill will take place on Friday, October 6.  All schools will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier than regular dismissal time.

Important information regarding School Meals!  The federal government has issued new nutrition standards for meals served to America’s schoolchildren, based on the Dietary Guidelines. The new standards set strict regulations for portion sizes, yet offer a wide variety of different fruits, vegetables, proteins and grains. We are always working to offer CCSD students healthier lunch meal choices. We look forward to welcoming your children to the cafeteria this fall.

Once again this year, the Putnam County Department of Health will offer influenza vaccine clinics in our schools. These immunizations will be provided at no cost to children who attend our schools and to staff. Information and consent forms will be sent home next week. The form, as well as a schedule of clinics can also be found on our website.

CHS NEWS
Underclass and Staff pictures scheduled for Sept. 18 and 19 have been postponed until October 23 and 24. In addition, the new re-take day is December 1in Casey Hall.
 
CLASS OF 2018 CAP & GOWN ORDERS WILL BE TAKEN ON SEPTEMBER 28 & 29 in the CHS Cafeteria during lunch periods. The basic cap/gown/tassel unit is $33 and students will have a choice of red, white or navy. Jostens also offers additional apparel and packages. Information and order forms will be handed out in students’ English classes. Students need to purchase a cap and gown to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 21.

CIVIL WAR EXHIBIT AT KENT PUBLIC LIBRARY

September through November! Check out this informative exhibit by CHS student Tyler Dicembrino in the Genealogy & Local History Room. The display includes information on battlefield tours, the Civil War Trust, the Gettysburg Foundation, maps of the battlefields and much more!

 

4-H BASIC SEWING
