Molinaro Letter to Department of Veterans Affairs on Trump administration cutting Veterans Affairs’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families

Dutchess County has been proud to partner with Hudson River Housing serving our veterans.   Utilizing funding grants through the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program, we have seen a dramatic decrease in homelessness among veterans.   We were shocked to learn SSVF funding will come to an abrupt end on September 30th.  This decision is shortsighted and illogical.     Below you can find my letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs imploring them to reverse this decision and restore this critical funding for our veterans.

We are grateful to Congressmen John Faso and Sean Patrick Maloney and Senator Chuck Schumer for standing with us and speaking up for Dutchess County’s and America’s veterans.   We cannot allow any veteran to be left out in the cold, to struggle on their own. Dutchess County stands with our veterans and will keep fighting for every one of them.
