Obituary, Barbara A. Tagliamonte

Boonville – Barbara A. Tagliamonte, 67, wife of Silvio A., a former resident of Verbank, NY, (Dutchess County), passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Barbara was born in Poughkeepsie, on March 2, 1950, a daughter of George G. and Virginia White Palmer. She grew up in Pleasant Valley and graduated from Arlington High School, LaGrangeville, NY. On August 16, 1968, Barbara was united in marriage with Silvio A. Tagliamonte, at St. Stanislaus, Church, Pleasant Valley. Thereafter the couple lived on Rt. 82, Verbank, until relocating to Boonville, in Jan., 2017.

Mrs. Tagliamonte greatly enjoyed the role of a homemaker and she greatly loved her family and caring for all who entered their home. She found a special joy in cooking, camping and spending time with her grandchildren. For many years, Barbara also brightened the lives of others by serving as a volunteer cook for Dutchess County Meals on Wheels. From 1988, until moving to Boonville, she was a member of Union Vale Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, serving as treasurer and then as auxiliary president for many years. She also enjoyed crafts and was a member of NYS Federation of Home Bureaus of Dutchess County Real People Chapter.

In addition to her husband, Silvio, Barbara is survived by her sons, John (Sandy) Tagliamonte, Boonville, Joseph (Cheryle) Dunnellon, FL, Justin and significant other, Karen, Verbank; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Aubrey, Jaina, Hanna & Lia and her mother, Virginia Palmer, Florida. She was predeceased by her father, George Palmer, in March, 1988.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, August 18, from 3-6 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, where a service will follow at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
