Obituary, Zane Alan Grey

 

MILLBROOK – Zane Alan Grey, of Millbrook, NY, died unexpectedly August 8, 2017 at the age of 38. Zane was born on November 17, 1978 in New Milford, CT to Gary and Shelly (Mahar) Grey. He spent most of his life in the Clove Valley. He graduated from Millbrook High School in 1996, where he had played football and track & field. He married Danielle Wilt, his high school sweetheart, in 2003 and they had two beautiful daughters together.

Zane attended Penn State, Dutchess Community College and Marist, before working alongside his father at Gary Grey Project Manager. Recently, Zane enthusiastically bought the business and renamed it Grey Excavation and was looking forward to the future. Zane was an active member and Trail Coordinator for the Hudson Valley 4 Wheelers. He and his family enjoyed off-roading with their 2004 Jeep TJ. Zane enjoyed hiking, hunting and spending time with family, including family dog Link. He was a Boston Red Sox and Oakland Raiders fan and always enjoyed the annual Grey Reunion.

His is survived by his beloved wife, Danielle and his 2 daughters, Shannon and Ciara; his parents, Gary and Shelly of Stanfordville, NY; his sister, Kim and her partner Fred of Peekskill, NY; his in-laws Ronn and Carolyn Wilt of Union Vale, NY; 3 brothers-in-law: Jeff Wilt of Red Hook, NY, Sean Wilt of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Ronnie Wilt of Union Vale, NY; sisters in-law: Debbie (Wilt) Murphy and her husband Patrick of Red Hook, NY and Rebecca (Wilt) Hunter and her husband Michael of New Woodstock, NY.; his grandfather Kenneth Grey and his wife Peggy of Stanfordville, NY; nieces Alexis Murphy and Rachael Hunter; nephew Robert Hunter and many more cousins and extended family.

Zane will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday , August 12 from 9 – 11 am at 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 pm from St. Joseph’s Church, North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Millbrook.
