Wappinger man charged with Felony DWAI-Drugs following traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE
Wappinger, New York – On August 8, 2017, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Johnathan C. Coleman, 29 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies.

Troopers stopped Coleman on Maloney Road for an equipment violation.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs at the time of the stop.

Coleman was charged with Felony DWAI-Drugs due to having a previous DWI related conviction from 2013.  A license check revealed that his privilege to operate a motor vehicle in New York State was revoked so he was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.

Coleman was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on August 22, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
