Obituary, Frank LaPietra

 

Beekman – Frank LaPietra, 60, an area resident since 1978 and formerly of Queens, passed away on August 3, 2017 at the Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Danbury.

Born in San Gennarello, Italy on September 9, 1956, he was the son of the late Felice LaPietra and Giuseppina Catapano LaPietra of Franklin Square. Frank had been employed as an Engineer with IBM in East Fishkill and Poughkeepsie for over 35 years until his retirement earlier this week. He volunteered for many years with Beekman Soccer and LRSA Soccer, and was a former trustee with the Pawling United Methodist Church.

Frank was involved in many projects throughout his life including the building of his home in Beekman, and the co-founding of Music Box Studios in Poughquag with his wife Toni. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, coaching soccer, spending time with family, and playing with his grandsons.

On June 23, 1985 in Roslyn Heights, Frank married Toni Buckner who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Gabriel LaPietra and his wife Katherine of Stratford, CT, Felice LaPietra and Kenny Fisch of Queens, Emily Albanese and her husband Michael of Cortlandt Manor, and Daniel LaPietra of Poughquag; his grandsons, Blake Simon LaPietra and Evan Francis LaPietra; his sister, Luisa Giliberti and her husband Andrea of Franklin Square; his brother, Pasquale LaPietra and his wife Carmela of Bellmore; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3 and 5-7pm at  895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11am at Christ Church on Quaker Hill, 17 Church Road, Pawling followed by interment in the Quaker Hill Cemetery.
