Obituary, John P. Culich

 

Milan – John P. Culich, 86, of Milan and a lifelong area resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his son’s home.

Born on August 28th, 1930, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Matilda (Covic) Culich. John married Faith E Decker in 1961 in Pleasant Plains, NY and she predeceased him on April 13, 2010.

He, along with his family owned and operated the Culich Farm in Milan, NY. John lived on a farm all of his life and held a passion for farming. He would wait patiently for every haying season and took great joy and pride in his life’s work. John also worked for over 25 years on the Taconic State Parkway for the NYS Department of Transportation, based out of Clinton Corners.

In addition to his passion for farming, John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all types of animals. In his later years, he enjoyed attending Clambake’s with his son Kevin.

John is survived by his two sons; Kevin Culich and his fiancé Mary Kunda of Livingston, NY, and Brian Culich and his wife Cindy of Des Moines, IO; his grandchildren, Briana Mooers Caitlin Culich, and Danielle Culich; along with extended family, colleagues and friends.

Friends may call at 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY. on Monday, August 7th, 2017 from 5-8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at Burnett & White Funeral Homes in Red Hook, NY. Rev. Frank L. Cirone will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
