Obituary, Stephen Christopher Queenan

 

 

Murrells Inlet – Stephen Christopher Queenan, 63, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet. He was born December 19, 1953 in the Bronx, NY, to the late Patrick and May Quinn Queenan.

Along with his parents, Stephen is preceded in passing by his uncles, Charles and John Quinn.

Formerly a resident of Poughquag, New York for over 25 years, Stephen retired from Opengate Inc. and New Horizons, New York as a Direct Care Supervisor for the developmentally disabled. Anyone who knew Steve knows what a caring,patient, selfless person he was. Always smiling and generous of spirit he had a passion for animals and cycling , but most of all, loved being with his wife and sharing their enjoyment of the beach and their retirement as a part of the “Seasons” community.

Left to cherish Stephen’s memory is his beloved wife, Susan Queenan of Murrells Inlet; his daughter, Rachel and her husband Matthew Osso of Bolston Spa, NY; his step-son, Michael and his wife Tiffany Frieary of Renton, WA; his brother, Michael and his wife Barbara Queenan of Congers, NY; his sisters, Sr. Anne Queenan of Bronx, NY, and Cathleen and her husband Richard Carroll of Hyde Park, NY as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service Mass for Stephen will be held on Friday August 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Cypress Drive, Garden City, SC 29576, with Fr. Ed Fitzgerald officiating. The family will greet friends at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 on Wednesday August 2, 2017 as well as Thursday august 3, 2017 both from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
