State Police arrest Columbia County woman and Pittsfield man for kidnapping

New Lebanon, New York – On July 27, 2017, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston barracks, partnered with Troopers from SP New Lebanon, arrested 38-year-old Charles L. Tabon, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, for Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree, a Class E Felony, and Menacing in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.  Also charged was Megan L. Vandeusen, 28 years old, of New Lebanon, with Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the 1st Degree.

On July 27, 2017 at approximately 12:50 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a report of a female being held against her will at a residence in New Lebanon.  The subsequent investigation revealed that the female victim was brought to the residence in New Lebanon from Pittsfield, MA, where an altercation then took place and she was menaced with a handgun. During the investigation, Troopers located and arrested Tabon and Vandeusen.

Both defendants were arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.  They are scheduled to appear in New Lebanon Court on July 31, 2017.
