Obituary, Michael ‘Mikey’ Zemsky

 

Michael ‘Mikey’ Zemsky, a lifelong Putnam Lake resident, died suddenly unexpectedly on July 20, 2017. He was 37 years old.

Mike was born on April 20, 1980 in Carmel, NY, son to Henry P. Zemsky of Putnam Lake, NY and the late Kathleen P. (Moir) Zemsky. He was a 1998 graduate of Brewster High School. Most recently Mikey was a roofer and painter, prior to his current job he worked for Classic Painting in Pawling, NY as a painter.

No matter where life took him he always went back to the lake and his lifelong friends he had there. He was always smiling and always happy, all who met him loved him. Mikey had a great passion for sports; in High School he played football and lacrosse, he enjoyed watching the NY Jets and NY Mets. Softball was one of his greatest passions, playing in multiple leagues at once.

Mike is not only survived by his father, Henry, but his siblings; Henry Jr., of Brewster, NY, Jessica and her husband Robert Martini of New Fairfield, CT, Genesis Zemsky of Poughqaug, NY, his nieces and nephews; Hunter, Sophia, Logan, Hannah, Nicolas and Francesca, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins and all of his many friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen, on June 21, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 28, 2017 at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, Patterson, NY. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call at, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
