Obituary, Ruth A. Fullerton

 

Millerton – Ruth A. Fullerton, 58, a forty year resident of Millerton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her home in Millerton. Mrs. Fullerton worked for Trotta’s Supermarket in the meat department for several years and in the housekeeping department at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT for over ten years prior to her retirement in 2012.

Born February 25, 1959 in Pittsfield, MA she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Roberta Oaks Scace. Ruth was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1977. On May 4, 1980 at the Millerton Presbyterian Church she married the love of her life, Robert George Fullerton. Mr. Fullerton survives at home.

Ruth enjoyed reading in her spare time and was known for being an excellent cook. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed vacationing in Speculator, NY and Charlestown, RI with her family. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and liked going to car shows with her husband Bob. Ruth was a kind, soft spoken soul, who will be dearly missed by her loving family and her many friends.

In addition to her beloved husband Bob, she is survived by a son, Jason Fullerton of North Dakota; a sister and step sister, Robin Scace of Pittsfield, MA and Jane Peck of Millerton; her sister in law and brother in law, Sally and John Slachta of Belmont, NC and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved son Justin E. Fullerton on July 24, 2016; two brothers, John and Ricky Scace and her father and mother in law, George L. and Eleanor Fullerton.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 12-2pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral service will take place at 2pm following calling hours. Rev. Zora F. Cheatham will officiate. Burial will take place at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton at a later date.
