Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation

PRESS RELEASE
The New York State Police in Middletown is investigating a two-car fatal automobile accident that occurred at approximately 10:20 AM on July 16, 2017, on State Route 17M in the Town of Wallkill.
Dustin J. Mills, age 30, of Middletown, N.Y. was operating a 2005 Honda Accord East on State 17M in the Town of Wallkill. Robinson Perez, age 28, of New York, N.Y. was operating a 2011 BMW SUV West on State Route 17M when Perez left his lane of travel and struck Mills vehicle in the East bound lane of State Route 17M. Dustin Mills was pronounced deceased at the scene. Perez was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
The investigation is currently ongoing and the State Police in Middletown are requesting that any person who may have witnessed a Blue BMW SUV traveling erratically on State Route 17 West bound near Middletown at approximately 10:15 AM to contact SP Middletown at 845 344 5300. Assisting at the scene of the accident was the Town of Wallkill Police Department and the Circleville Fire Department.
