Obituary, Mary Lou Andress

 

Napanoch – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lou Andress of Napanoch NY on June 20, 2017. She died peacefully at the Hospice Inn, St. Peter’s Hospital-Albany with family and friends by her side.

Mary Lou was born on October 27, 1958, the daughter of James Andress of NC and Louise Trancynger of Millbrook, who survive her. She is also survived by her son, Raymond Lephew (Sheena); granddaughter Harlie Lephew; her sisters Susan Cordes (John) of NC and Carrie Andress (Bill); and her best friend Debi Gendron.

Mary Lou grew up in Hopewell Junction, and was known for her wonderful smile, contagious laughter, and generous nature. She had an adventurous spirit and was admired for her tenacity and resilience. Mary Lou will be especially remembered for her love of animals and nature. She enjoyed taking walks with her beloved dogs, Effie and Ozzy, at the Gunks and Vanderbilt Mansion; going to concerts, and simply being among friends at outdoor gatherings.

Mary Lou took on challenging jobs including caring for the developmentally disabled at Wassaic State Hospital. Later in life, Mary Lou transitioned to working as an 18-wheel truck driver with Webster Trucking and became one of their top drivers.

Calling hours will be from 11am-1pm on Sunday, June 25th, at 1089 Main Street, Fishkill and will be immediately followed by a “Celebration of Life” at the Beacon Elks Lodge, 900 Wolcott Avenue, Beacon NY. Friends and family are invited to attend.
