Obituary, John B. Sullivan of Holmes, New York

 

Mr. Sullivan was born on September 28, 1939 to John and Mary (Fox) Sullivan in Yonkers, NY.

During the Cold War Era, he proudly served our Country with the US Army.  He married his love, Mary Anne Dennehy and together they were blessed with three children; Kathleen Mary, Maura Anne and Thomas John.

Before he retired he was employed by AT&T as a Communications Technician in Mt. Kisco, NY.  He was very active in his community and was a member of The Emerald Society, Brewster Elks and The American Legion.  In his spare time, he had a passion for fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his two loving daughters; Kathleen Mary Sullivan (Clive Jones) of Vancouver, Cananda, Maura McLoughlin (James) of Dix Hills, NY, his fiancée  Frances (Ahern) Ott, who taught him how to love  and enjoy life again, his two brothers; Daniel and Gerald and his six cherished grandchildren; Thomas, Jr., Madeline, Maryanne, Maeve, Eamon and Fiona, all of whom he adored and each grandchild held a special place in his heart.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Anne, his loving son, Thomas and his wife Donna, his two cherished grandchildren; Meaghan and Mairead.  He will be dearly missed by all who had known and loved him, yet his love and devotion to family and friends will continue to grow in our hearts.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512. Interment will be private.
