Obituary, Philomena Lucille Ketchum

 

Millerton – Philomena Lucille Ketchum, 94, a thirty four year resident of Millerton, NY formerly of College Point, NY died peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 with her loving family at her side.

Born June 18, 1922 in White Plains, NY she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Saveria (Longo) Marano. Following her graduation from high school she married Eugene George Ketchum on February 5, 1950 in College Point. Mr. Ketchum died January 16, 2002. Philomena was a homemaker and raised her two daughters in College Point. She was a member of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Patrick’s Parish in Millerton for many years and enjoyed playing cards and gambling on occasion. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Survivors include her two daughters, Denise Conway and her husband Robert of Millerton and Vera Wink of White Stone, NY; two sisters, Mary Simmons of Millerton and Genevieve Minischetti of Lynbrook, Long Island, NY; four grandchildren, Robert, Michelle, Douglas and Danielle; five great grandchildren, Robbie, Nathan, Zoey, Megan and Krista. In addition to her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her son in law, Douglas Wink and four siblings, Antonette Mottola, Rose Brodeur, Ralph Marano and Louis Marano.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5-9pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Road, Amenia, NY. Rev. Kent Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Church Street, Millerton, NY.
