Obituary, Douglas Owen Landy

 

Remembering fondly, Douglas Owen Landy, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend. Born October 6, 1944 in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Helen Quinn Landy, both deceased. Also, predeceased by step-mother, Patricia Morgan Landy.

Survived by his wife and true love, Carla Herman Landy, his daughter, Alison Landy Cavallaro, son, Timothy Owen Landy (Jessica), four beautiful grandchildren, Ryan, Quinn, Gavin and Cora, sister, Keitha Murray (Peter), brother, Craig Landy (Mary), sister, Pamela Arian, brother, Morgan Landy (Katharine), and adoring nieces and nephews.

Douglas was a Manhattan College graduate, Class of 1966, and earned a graduate degree from the Baruch Mt. Sinai MBA program. Douglas dedicated his lifelong career to the health and well-being of others in his role as a healthcare executive. Most importantly, Doug put his family, faith and fellowship first. Doug was an avid fly fisherman, collector of miniature soldiers, a toy train aficionado and loved travel and history. Doug was a selfless, kind, generous soul who was admired by many and loved by all.

A visitation of remembrance will be held from 3-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 and a funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12 noon followed by a burial, at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, 7 River Road, Sharon, CT (near Cornwall Bridge).
