MILLERTON, NY—Oblong Books & Music in Millerton is excited to host the farmers of Rock Steady Farm & Flowers! Come to a meet-and-greet next Tuesday evening, June 6 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. to learn more about Rock Steady’s CSA, pick their brains about your home garden, talk about food policy issues, and get some of their harvest to take home.

“CSA” stands for Community Supported Agriculture, which provides a direct partnership between farmers and their community. Members buy a share of the harvest up front, before the growing season begins, and then receive a weekly bounty of vegetables and/or flowers between June and November, to be picked up at the farm. The Rock Steady Farm CSA pick up is every Saturday, right here in Millerton. Their U-Pick section is a huge highlight!

Veggie & Flower CSA

Our sliding scale price range helps offset the cost for low-income CSA members. Please consider a payment that is towards the higher side if you and your household are financially stable to do so. We also provide the option to pay in installments, our minimum down-payment to secure your share is $150.

Fruit Share

We are excited to partner with Klein’s Kill Farm Farm in Germantown, NY, to offer our members an incredible diversity of local, environmentally conscious, low spray fruit. You must have a vegetable share in order to purchase a fruit share.

  • Full Share (19 weeks, weekly pick-up) $190

  • Half Share (9 weeks, every other week pick-up) $90

  • Summer Share (13 weeks, weekly pick-up) $130

Meat Share

Get ready to start grilling this summer! We are partnering with Maitri Farm, in Amenia, to offer our members pasture raised, non-GMO, delicious meat. The “Grillables Share” includes ground beef, sausage, bacon, pork chops, and ribs. There will be 8 lbs of total product that is all frozen and vacuum-sealed. Pick-ups are not every week. We offer meat shares up to three times throughout the season, and you can commit to as many as you would like. Currently, you may sign-up for the Grillables Share. You must have a vegetable share in order to purchase a meat share.

  • Grillables Share (1 bulk pick-up in June) $100

  • October and November shares: Details announced mid-season. Prices will range from $100-300 depending on what meat you chose.
