Troopers Arrest Man Driving Stolen Jeep

On May 20, 2017 Troopers from the Liberty barracks were contacted by a homeowner in the Town of Thompson who reported that while heading to his home on Old Ryan Rd, he observed what appeared to be his 2004 Jeep heading in the opposite direction.  Upon arriving home, he found that his Jeep was in fact missing from his garage.  State Police responded to investigate.  A short time later, two Troopers patrolling Cold Spring Rd outside of Monticello observed the Jeep heading towards Forestburgh.  The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Daniel Price, age 28 of Monticello, NY.  He was placed under arrest.

Price was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, all felonies.  It was additionally determined that Price was intoxicated at the time of his arrest.  He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated as a felony.  He was arraigned in the Town of Rockland Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $40,000 cash bail/$50,000 bond.
