Hyde Park, New York – On May 15, 2017, New York State Police in Rhinebeck arrested 40-year-old Ryan McNamee of Wappingers Falls, New York, for Grand Larceny in the 4thDegree, a Class E Felony.

On the aforementioned date, plain clothed State Police Investigators were in the parking lot of the Home Depot, located on North Road in Poughkeepsie, when they observed the defendant enter the home improvement store.  Several minutes later, McNamee was observed exiting the store, running toward a vehicle, while pushing a shopping cart which contained three chain saws and a leaf blower.

McNamee was confronted by the Investigators.  He then grabbed a chain saw from the cart and threw it in a waiting vehicle, instructing the driver to exit the parking area. The car left the Home Depot parking lot and was subsequently stopped by State Police on Route 9 in Hyde Park.

McNamee was charged with Grand Larceny when further investigation revealed that he had stolen over $1100 worth of merchandise from the Home Depot.  Two occupants in the vehicle were not charged and released from police custody.

He was arraigned in the Town of Hyde Park Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  McNamee is due to appear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on May 17, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
