Obituary, Claire Marie Odell

 

Claire Marie Odell, 85, a long-time Beekman-Poughquag resident, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home in Poughquag, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.

Born in the Bronx on July 25, 1931, she was the daughter of John and Honora (Ryan) Kelly, and grew up in the Bronx. She married Raymond Odell in St. Denis Church, Hopewell Junction, NY on April 29, 1951.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; five sons, Raymond and wife Hollie of Beekman, Michael and wife Brenda of Clinton Corners, Stephen and wife Lynn of Red Hook, Denis of Poughquag, and Sean and wife Ivy of Dover Plains; two daughters, Honora Knox and husband Bill of Myrtle Beach and Tara Maucieri and husband John of Pleasant Valley; two brothers, John Kelly of Kissimmee, FL and Patrick Kelly and wife Mary of Sherman Mills, ME; a sister-in-law, Marie Kelly of Tuxedo Park, NY; 17 grandchildren, Ryan Knox, Peter Knox, Daniel Odell, Adam Odell, Erin Essery, Cassandra Orser, Carley Odell, Kyle Odell, Shane Odell, Branden Odell, Courtney Odell, Denis Odell Jr, Tessa Setaro, Lauren Odell, Lindsey Odell, Alessanra Maucieri, and John Maucieri; and 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, Alfred Kelly, and granddaughter, Lila Claire Odell.

Family and friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Monday, May 1. 2017, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 2nd at 10 AM at St. Denis Church, Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.  Burial will follow in Beekman Cemetery, Poughquag, NY.
