Poughkeepsie man charged with endangering the welfare of disabled men

Pleasant Valley, New York – On April 26, 2017, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Poughkeepsie, in conjunction with the New York State Justice Center, arrested Anthony L. Dabney, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, New York, and charged him with Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent Person in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On April 13, 2017, State Police commenced an investigation into a complaint reported to the Justice Center.  The investigation revealed that on April 12, 2017, Dabney left two mentally handicapped men alone in a running vehicle while in the City of Poughkeepsie.  Dabney is employed by a local residential facility for people with developmental disabilities.

Dabney was issued an appearance directing him to appear in the City of Poughkeepsie Court on May 2, 2017.
