Join Dutchess Outreach at Waryas Park in the City of Poughkeepsie for the 6th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep!

Help us keep the Hudson River clean! Join Dutchess Outreach and Riverkeeper at Waryas Park in the City of Poughkeepsie on Saturday, May 6 for the 6th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep! Last year, more than 2,200 volunteers and dozens of community partners worked along the Hudson River from Brooklyn to Troy and removed a combined total of 164 tons of shoreline debris! Let’s do it again! This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY event and a great opportunity to positively impact your community. Not to mention FREE BEER. That’s right, after the clean-up we’ll sweep up to Mill House Brewing Company to enjoy a complimentary brew for our efforts. Volunteers will meet at Waryas Park (Waryas Park Promenade, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601) in front of the Skate Park near the Children’s Museum where parking will be available nearby in municipal lots. We ask all Sweep volunteers to wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that they can get dirty, and to bring a hat, a reusable water bottle, and snacks. This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with proper adult supervision. Questions? Contact site leader Sarah Salem at sarah@dutchessoutreach.org or Riverkeeper at sweep@riverkeeper.org.
