In March of 2017, Troopers from the Brewster Barracks partnered with the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center to investigate a sexual offense reported to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Child Abuse Hotline.  Subsequent to a detailed investigation, it was discovered that Spring subjected a teenage boy under the age of 17 to sexual contact.  The victim, who he employed at his business, Northeast Dive Services of Brewster, was exposed to the sexual contact on multiple dates at a residence in the Holmes section of the Town of Pawling. The defendant is also accused of providing the victim with alcohol and marihuana.

Additionally, Spring was stopped by police on Milltown Road and found to be operating his vehicle under the influence of drugs.  He was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.
