Newburgh Man Arrested for DWI and for Possessing a Stolen Weapon

PRESS RELEASE

    

The New York State Police announce the arrest of Joshua S. Mendez, age 28, of Newburgh, NY. Mendez was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th, a Class E Felony, and Criminal Possession of Marihuana, a Class A Misdemeanor, DWI as well as other Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations.

 Following a Vehicle and Traffic stop for speeding, Mr. Mendez was found to be driving while intoxicated. Mr. Mendez was also in possession of a stolen Sig Sauer, .380 caliber, pistol and a quantity of Marihuana.

Mendez was arraigned in the City of Newburgh Court before Justice Trachte, and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $75,000 bail.
