Registered Sex Offender from Wurtsboro Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Mr. Colbert is a Level 2 registered sex offender who relocated from the State of New Hampshire to Wurtsboro, NY over a year ago.  Mr. Colbert was placed on probation through Sullivan County in February, 2017.  Sullivan County Probation conducted a home visit at Mr. Colbert’s residence on March 30, 2017. During the home visit, Mr. Colbert was found to be in violation of the terms and conditions of his probation. Sullivan County Probation requested assistance with the investigation from the state police.  Troopers subsequently arrested and he was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail.

A further investigation by the New York State Police Troop F Computer Crimes Unit revealed that Mr. Colbert was in possession of a sexual performance by a child. He was processed for this offense the state police barracks in Wurtsboro and will remain in the custody of the Sullivan County Jail on $50,000 bail.
