Four DCC Students Earn SUNY Chancellor’s Awards

April 10, 2017 – Four Dutchess Community College students were presented with 2017 State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence. The awards were presented by SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher at an April 5 ceremony in Albany.

The recipients, nominated about DCC faculty and staff, are Liberal Arts and Sciences student Christopher Gabryszewski, Staatsburg; Communications student Lindsey Nun, Fishkill; Business student Nicholas Roberts, Poughkeepsie; and Art Studies student Morgan Wells, Fishkill.

“These students have exceled not only in the classroom, but as leaders on campus and in their communities as well,” said DCC President Pamela Edington. “Their hard work and dedication, combined with the opportunities provided by a DCC education, will certainly lead to more success in the future for each of them.”

Approximately 250 students out of the 400,000 studying at the 64 SUNY campuses were given the honor this year, which recognizes the integration of academic excellence with accomplishments in leadership, athletics, community service, performing arts, campus involvement and career achievement.
