Faso Statement on Internet Privacy Bill

Washington, D.C. – Congressman John Faso (R-Kinderhook) issued the following statement on the passage of S.J. Res 34:

“I support the need for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to obtain affirmative opt-ins from consumers for their personal information. Ultimately it is consumers who have the right to decide how their information will be used. For these reasons I could not support today’s vote to roll back privacy protections implemented by the Federal Communications Commission.”
