Upcoming Events for April at The Dover Library : Spring Break-Out! & “National Library Week” (April 9th-15th)
- Monday the 10th– Sand Art Necklaces, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (while supplies last)
- Tuesday the 11th– Book to Movie Club, 12:00 PM- Pizza & screening & discussion of Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life
- Wednesday the 12th– Mrs. Alvarez, Wingdale Elementary School Principal, will do a special story time at 10:30 AM. At 11:30 AM, we will decorate cupcakes (while supplies last)
- Thursday the 13th– Dover Patron Appreciation Day— We’ll have donuts & coffee courtesy of the library. Kids can stop in any time to decorate a foam bookmark.
- Friday the 14th– Duct Tape Crafts at 12:30 PM for 11 & older
- Saturday the 15th– “The Origin of Red”—a workshop hosted by Local Artist Eileen Gunning from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
“Money Smart Week” is April 22-29th. Check our website for information on when Brian Masterson, Dover’s M&T Branch Manager, will be here that week to present on tips for financial literacy & security.
Ongoing Events:
- “Book a Trip Around the World” – Stop by for your Passport Book and begin your journey to exotic places. Stop by the library to have your passport book stamped & receive a sweet treat!
- AR Testing- Can be done anytime, when a computer is available. A designated computer is available 5-7:30PM and 10-12:30PM on Saturdays. Free printing of all certificates of completion.
- Preschool Storytime, snack & a craft- Every Tues. & Wed. at 10:30 AM. Walk-ins welcome.
- Popcorn & a Movie- On the first Saturday of every month at 1PM. April’s Movie is Sing, May’s movie is Moana. Free, fun for all ages! All-you-can-eat popcorn!
- Free ESL Classes- Courtesy of Literacy Connections, ever Tuesday at 6PM. All languages and levels welcome. Please call 845-452-8670 to sign up.
- Free Yoga Classes- Yin Restorative Yoga every Thursday at 4:30 & Intermediate Yoga every Saturday at 10AM. Please call the library at 845-832-6605 to sign up.
- Dutchess One-Stop- Receive resume and job-hunting assistance every second Thursday of the month at from 2-4PM. Please call the library at 845-832-6605 to sign up.
- Meet with our local Community Action rep Thursdays at 1:30PM. Please call ahead to verify.
- In-Stiches- Our knitting group meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month. No sign-up necessary.
