The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Thursday. * Locations...All of eastern New York and adjacent western New England. * Winds...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Timing...Early this evening through early Thursday evening. * Impacts...Downed tree limbs and branches as well as scattered power outages are possible. In addition, unsecured objects may be blown around and driving may be difficult for high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are expected...or gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing scattered power outages. Driving can also be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
