Mount Kisco Man Charged With Criminal Impersonation & Possession of Needles

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Mount Kisco man on misdemeanor charges following a traffic stop in Carmel.

On February 19, 2017 at 3:53 p.m., Sergeant Johnathon Cihanek stopped a motorist for allegedly failing to yield the right of way to traffic on U.S. Route 6 in the Town of Carmel. The driver, identified as Mr. Christopher J. Demauro, aged 30, of 17 Carlton Drive in Mount Kisco, allegedly misrepresented his identity to the deputy by giving a false name. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Demauro was allegedly in possession of two hypodermic needles. Sgt. Cihanek arrested him and charged him with Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, all misdemeanors.

The defendant was booked at the Sheriff’s Office and arraigned before Carmel Town Justice Thomas Jacobellis, who set bail at $1,000.00 cash or $2,500.00 bond. Cash bail was posted on February 20th to secure his release pending further court action. If found guilty of the charges, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 on each count.
