Connecticut woman charged with felony DWI

Southeast, New York – On February 24, 2017, New York State Police from the East Fishkill barracks arrested Stacey A. Bencivengo, 48 years old, of Brookfield, CT, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with two prior convictions, a Class D Felony.

Troopers stopped Bencivengo for failing to maintain her lane of travel on Interstate 84.  Further investigation revealed that she was operating the vehicle while she was intoxicated.

The defendant was charged with Felony DWI when an investigation revealed two previous DWI related convictions from 2008 and 2010.

Bencivengo provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  She was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.  She is due to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on February 28, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
