The Western Sahara holds many secrets in The ACME Mystery Co.’s & Mahoney’s Irish Pub’s newest Murder Mystery

Poughkeepsie, New York, February 24th, 2017— The ACME Mystery Company & Mahoney’s Irish Pub opens “The Strange Case of Sheik Yerbuti” Thursday, March 9th at 7:00pm upstairs in the 200-seat Vassar Room. Tickets are only $45 dollars and they include a 3-course dinner, non-alcoholic beverage, the live interactive performance,  and a chance to win great prizes! Tickets can be purchased by calling (845) 471-7026 or by visiting purchase.mahoneysirishpub.com. The production runs every Thursday night until April 13.

The tiny camel-trading nation of Yerbuti and their ancient enemies,  Fugar, rest within the Western Sahara. Neither country is particularly well off and they have very little relevance on the world’s stage. That is, until now. Ambassadors from England plan to announce a peace accord between the two fighting nations. To strengthen the deal, Yerbuti may be sitting on a large, untapped deposit of oil. Everyone knows what that means. The largest players in the world may kill to get their hands on Yerbuti.

This is the company’s 10th production in the past year! After speaking with the Artistic Director, Terry LaCasse, it seems as though ACME always has a few surprises up their sleeve. “Every show we perform, requires large amounts of willing audience participation,” explains LaCasse. Yes, he asked that, “Willing” be in italics. “Well, we never want people to feel like participation is mandatory. It’s meant to be fun for everyone,” he laughs, “even introverts! The audience lines and contests allow guests the chance to break the fourth wall and make each other laugh.” When asked what makes this show different LaCasse confesses,”This is the first time  an audience member is going to be playing a leading role and is a very real suspect. It’s a little terrifying.”

About ACME Mystery Co.

Originally based out of Syracuse, New York, ACME provides interactive comedies in a mystery format, usually in conjunction with a dinner. Our shows play on two levels: they are extremely funny and fun to watch but there also is a very real mystery which each audience member gets the chance to solve. At every seat is a program telling you where you are, when you are, and who you are. It also tells you about the characters you will be meeting. Additionally, each table is given a Clue and encouraged to exchange this information with other tables in an effort to put together the most comprehensive list so as to better solve the mystery.

We write all of our own material to ensure quality and have been entertaining audiences throughout the Northeast for over 20 years. We’ve given over 2000 performances in venues big and small from mansions to restaurants, hotels to local halls. We entertain at regular venues, semi-regular venues, annual events, and special occasions.
