Troop K – In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties, the New York State Police made the following DWI related arrests between Friday, October 14, 2016 and Monday, October 17, 2016:

On October 14, 2016, State Police from Livingston arrested Ljuban Milic, 65 years old, of New Rochelle, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Driving While Intoxicated.  Milic was stopped by police on Route 82 for failing to dim his high beams to on-coming traffic and found to unlawfully possess a .22 caliber handgun.  The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Gallatin Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.

On October 15, 2016, State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested 43-year-old Demetrio V. Gomez of Pine Plains, New York, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1stDegree, a Class E Felony and Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers were dispatched to investigate a one-car collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway. A Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, Gomez, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a .16% Blood Alcohol Content and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Clinton Court on October 24, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, New York State Troopers from Brewster arrested 22-year-old Bryan Guerra Ramirez, of Brewster, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated.  Subsequent to a one-car collision investigation conducted on Tonetta Lake Road, Guerra Ramirez was found to be intoxicated. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on October 27, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, State Police from East Fishkill charged Christopher Espinal, 22 years old, of Danbury, Connecticut, with DWI and Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, both Misdemeanor.  Troopers observed the defendant traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour on the Interstate 684. Espinal failed to stop for the police vehicle and continued to travel at a high rate of speed. The defendant did stop for police on Interstate 84 and was placed in custody.  Espinal provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .11% and was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court.  He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on October 27, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 56-year-old Raymond J. Squires, of Cold Spring, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Squires was arrested for DWI after Trooper investigated a one-car crash that occurred on Route 9 in Philipstown.  The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court on November 9, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, New York State Police from Wappinger charged 24-year-old Sean C. McGuire, of Fishkill, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Subsequent to a one-car rollover collision investigation conducted on Park Hill Drive, McGuire was found to be intoxicated.  The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .12% and was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Wappinger Court on October 25, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 57-year-old Christine B. Bannon, of Wappingers Falls, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.  Troopers were dispatched to a two-car hit and run crash that occurred on Route 9 in Wappinger.  Subsequent to an investigation conducted by responding officers, it was discovered that Bannon had struck the rear of another vehicle and fled the crash site.  She was located at her residence and was found to be impaired by drugs. She is due to appear in Wappinger Court on November 1, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, New York State Police from Wappinger arrested 25-year-old Dennis A. Rivera, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Aggravated DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Rivera was arrested for DWI after Trooper investigated a one-car crash that occurred on Route 9D.  The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .18% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Wappinger Justice Court on October 25, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, New York State Police from Brewster charged Katelyn Gardner, 21 years old, of East Fishkill, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor. Troopers stopped Gardner on State Route 22 for an equipment violation.  A subsequent investigation revealed that she was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .14% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on October 27, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, New York State Police from East Fishkill arrested Miguel S. Munoz-Lopez, age 39, of Danbury, Connecticut, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Munoz-Lopez was stopped by police on Interstate 84 for speeding.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .17% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on November 3, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested 24-year-old Christopher M. Dolphin, of Fishkill, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Dolphin was arrested for DWI after Trooper stopped the car he was operating on N. Mission Road for an inoperable head light. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on October 26, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, Troopers from Brewster charged 55-year-old Ana Chavez, of Carmel, NY, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Subsequent to a traffic stop conducted on Route 22 for failure to maintain her lane of travel, Chavez was arrested for DWI. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Southeast Court on October 27, 2016.

On October 14, 2016, State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 40-year-old Michael J. Thompson, Jr. of Cortlandt Manor, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Thompson was charged with DWI following a vehicle and traffic complaint investigation.  Thompson provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .16% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Yorktown Court on October 21, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, Troopers from Cortlandt arrested Gladys Granda Fajardo, age 29, of Peekskill, New York, for DWI, a Misdemeanor.  Granda Fajardo was arrested for DWI after Trooper stopped her for speeding and failing to maintain her designated lane of travel.  Granda Fajardo provided a breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .10% and was issued traffic tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on October 28, 2016.

On October 15, 2016, New York State Police from Cortlandt charged Craig W. Bergquist, 34 years old, of Lake Peekskill, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony. Troopers stopped Bergquist on Westbrook Road for speeding. Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the stop. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .10%.  Bergquist was charged with Felony DWI due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2008.  He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on October 24, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, State Police from Hawthorne arrested 36-year-old Carlos Gonzalez, of Beacon, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Gonzalez was arrested for DWI following a one-car collision investigation. The defendant was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Yorktown Court on October 27, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, Troopers from Cortlandt charged 53-year-old Maureen Quinn of Cortlandt, New York, with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Quinn was charged with DWI following a traffic stop conducted by the State Police for failing to exercise due care when passing an emergency vehicle. The defendant provided a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .14% and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court on October 24, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 47-year-old Henry K. Gumbrecht, of Putnam Valley, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.  Gumbrecht was charged with DWI following a traffic stop for speeding.  The defendant is scheduled to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on October 28, 2016.

On October 16, 2016, Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Carlos L. Monge, age 44, of New York, NY, for Aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both felonies.  Monge was stopped on Route 9A for failing to maintain his lane of travel.  A subsequent investigation revealed that he was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.   Monge was charged with Felony DWI under Leandra’s Law due to the fact that he had his 9-year-old son in the vehicle while he was driving. The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and released after posting $1,000 cash bail.
