Pine Bush Man Arrested For Attempted Robbery of Deli

     On October 15th, 2016, the New York State Police, Troop F, at SP Ellenville, announce the arrest of a male for an attempted Robbery in the Town of Shawangunk N.Y.

      Arrested was THOMAS J. MANN, age 31, of Pine Bush, New York who was charged with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree (felony) and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree (Misdemeanor.)

     The New York State Police conducted an attempted robbery investigation at the Borderline Deli located on Burlingham Rd in Pine Bush NY. The investigation revealed that a male entered the Deli and implied that he had a gun in his pocket while demanding the clerk give him cash from the register. The clerk verbally confronted the suspect who subsequently fled the store in a gray Toyota Corolla. The deli clerk and a customer who was inside the store were not injured during the attempted robbery. While on patrol, a State Trooper from the SP Ellenville barracks observed a 2012 Toyota Corolla matching the vehicle description traveling on State Route 209.  The Trooper initiated a traffic stop and additional investigative steps were taken which resulted in the arrest of THOMAS J. MANN.  MANN was taken into custody and arrested for Attempted Robbery.  While in custody, MANN intentionally damaged a wall at the SP Ellenville barracks and was additionally charged in the Town of Wawarsing court for Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

THOMAS J. MANN was arrested and processed at SP Ellenville. He was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court before Town Justice Charles Dechon and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 cash bail or $100,000.00 secured bond. MANN was ordered to reappear in the Town of Shawangunk Court on Monday October 16th, 2016 at 7:00pm.
