HOPEWELL JUNCTION – On October 8, 2016, Neil went Home to the Lord. He died at home with his wife at his side. In addition to other illnesses, for seven years Neil battled Mantle Cell Hon-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His body just couldn’t take it anymore.

Neil was born in New York City on January 16, 1945, to the late Thomas V., Sr. and Mary (Collins) Daley, and was raised in Eastchester, NY. Neil was born into the Catholic faith. He graduated from Immaculate Conception School, Tuckahoe, NY and attended Tuckahoe High School.

Neil was employed by ConEdison from 1965 through 1987, retiring from Eastview, Westchester County. He married the former Lisa Oldham at Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa, NY. Lisa survives at home. Neil spent over 28 years making a life with Lisa first in Pawling, NY, then in Lomala, Hopewell Junction, NY. In addition to his wife and father-in-law, George Oldham, Neil is survived by his brother, Thomas V. Daley, Jr. of Bronxville, NY, and his sister, M. Lucinda (Cindy) Finnegan of New Canaan, CT. He is also survived by two nieces and four nephews in NY and CT, as well as many dearly loved cousins in Maine and Virginia. In addition to his parents, Neil was predeceased by his sister, E. Gillis Daley (July 2012). The family would like to give a heartfelt, “Thank you” to the people who tended to Neil’s medical and emotional needs in more recent years: Dr. Nilo Herrera and his wonderful nurses and support staff, Dr. Abhijith Hedge and Shawna Moore, APRN, Pulmonology, and Dr. Kevin Jain and all the nurses and support staff at Praxair Cancer Center, Danbury, CT.

Anyone wishing to send a card or letter of condolence to his widow, Lisa, please mail it to PO Box 117, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. There will be no calling hours. A Mass celebrating Neil’s life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 Main Street (Church parking lot is located at 5 Elm Street), Fishkill, NY at 11 am. The service will be presided over by the Rev. Garrett M. Mettler. Burial will follow at Rombout Rural Cemetery, 1571 Route 52, Fishkill, NY.

In lieu of flowers, his widow requests donations in Neil’s memory be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, PO Box 484, Fishkill, NY or a charity of your choice .
