NORTHEAST DUTCHESS GETS NEW AREA CODE IN 2017

By this time next year, Dutchess County residents living in the 518 area code, along with everybody else in the 518, will start seeing a second area code that will cover the same region as 518, which in Dutchess includes the towns of Pine Plains and North East along with the village of Millerton and hamlets including Boston Corners, Pulvers Corners and Shekomeko. The new 838 area code will be an “overlay” for 518, which is rapidly running out of available numbers.
