DUTCHESS COUNTY REAL PROPERTY TAX FORECLOSURE AUCTION2016

 

[Poughkeepsie, NY] – Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance, Heidi Seelbach, has announced that Dutchess County will hold a Real Property Tax Foreclosure Auction of real estate on Wednesday, October 12 starting at 11AM (pre-registration from 9AM) at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, located at 40 Civic Center Plaza in Poughkeepsie, NY. This year’s auction will be conducted by the NYSAuctions.com team of Absolute Auctions & Realty, Inc. and Haroff Auction & Realty, Inc of Pleasant Valley, NY. All of the auction information, including the entire list of properties and the auction brochure, is available on the website: www.NYSAuctions.com.

A printed auction brochure is also available by visiting any Town or Village Hall within Dutchess County, the Dutchess County Clerk’s Office, Real Property Office or Finance Commissioner’s Office located in the City of Poughkeepsie on Market Street, or by calling 1-800-243- 0061. Anyone interested in buying property at the auction is urged to attend a “Public Bidder’s Seminar” being held at Absolute Auction Center, 45 South Avenue in Pleasant Valley, NY on Monday, October 10 beginning with early bidder registration at 6PM and followed by questions and answers at 7PM. This informative seminar is conducted by company representatives and is particularly useful for those attending the tax foreclosure auction for the first time. They will review the auction’s “Terms and Conditions” and useful tips are provided to help bidders to become more informed buyers. The seminar is a great opportunity to learn and to ask questions about the entire auction process. Several improved properties will be made available for pre-view on Tuesday, October 11.

A detailed showing schedule will be posted to http://www.NYSAuctions.com on Saturday, Oct. 8. Auction-day registration will begin at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel promptly at 9:00AM. Prospective purchasers must register and provide a photo ID such as a valid driver’s license or passport and social security number (for incorporated entities you will need to bring a copy of the state filing receipt proving incorporation, copy of EIN statement from IRS and a resolution authorizing the registrant to bid) before obtaining a bidding number. The deed will be issued in the name/entity that is on the registration forms, and ownership of the property is conveyed when the deed is recorded in the Dutchess County Clerk’s Office. Successful bidders will be required to place an immediate deposit of $250.00 or 20% of the total contract price (whichever is higher) at the auction. The deposit must be paid by cash, bank teller’s/cashier’s check or money order payable to “Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance,” or by credit/debit card (Master Card, Discover Card or VISA). Business or personal checks will NOT be accepted. All properties are sold “as is” and officials suggest prospective bidders complete their research prior to bidding at the auction.
