State Police in Brewster arrest Carmel man for Burglary

Southeast, New York – On July 11, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 74-year-old Carmine Baioni of Carmel, New York, for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.

Trooper were contacted by a Southeast woman who reported that several items, valued at over $800, had gone missing from her Route 22 residence.  An investigation revealed that Baioni, who worked at a local thrift shop, had unlawfully entered the victim’s home and removed the items.  Many of the items, which were antiques, were located in the defendant’s thrift shop for sale.

Baioni was arraigned before Hon. Vercollone in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Southeast Court on July 18, 2016.
