City of Poughkeepsie man charged with Grand Larceny of Wingdale resident

PRESS RELEASE

Dover, New York – On February 19, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Dover Plains barracks charged Daniel C. Espinosa, 22 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, with 9 counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree,
a Class D Felony.

On February 19, 2015, Troopers were contacted by a Wingdale resident who reported a larceny complaint. The victim discovered that several checks had been cashed against her bank account without her authorization or knowledge.

Investigation revealed that Espinosa had cashed a total of 9 forged checks, allowing him to unlawfully receive approximately $6,000 from the victim’s business account.

Espinosa was arraigned before the Town of Amenia Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
