Grace Church Millbrook holds 10th Anniversary Golf Tournament and Benefit Dinner 

Millbrook – On Monday, July 11 Grace Church Millbrook will hold its 10th Anniversary Golf Tournament and Benefit Dinner.  The event which includes a golf tournament, lunch, dinner, and auction is a major fundraiser for Grace Church. All proceeds will be used to help support Grace community outreach programs such as the Millbrook Pre-School, the Latino Outreach Program, the EPIC Youth Empowerment Program, the Food for Life Pantry and the Church Alliance Senior Housing.

Dr. Joshua Ginsberg, President of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, will be the guest speaker at the dinner. Founded in 1983, the Cary Institute is one of the world’s leading independent environmental research organizations. Ginsberg, a wildlife conservation scientist, received his Ph.D from Princeton University. His career spans 35 years and several continents.

The Reverend Dr. Douglas Fisher, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts will be honored at the dinner for his longstanding work committed to social justice and the “greening” of churches. Fisher was the rector of Grace Church from 2000 until 2012 when he was elected Bishop. The current rector of Grace Church is the Reverend Dr. Matthew Calkins.

The event will take place at the Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club, a beautiful facility with a challenging course of 19th century Scottish design. The tournament includes morning and afternoon flight times. Registration includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch provided by Panera Bread, an Izod golf shirt, complimentary beverages on the course, awards, raffle items and more. The cost for golf and lunch in $125; golf; lunch, dinner, and auction is $175; and dinner and auction is $110.

The benefit dinner begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, open bar, and music by Peter & Judith Muir. Throughout the dinner will be a silent auction.
