Winnakee Land Trust Launching

Dutchess Trails Roundtable Series,

A Network for Regional Trails Development

On Thursday, December 17th, 2015 Winnakee Land Trust is launching the Dutchess County Trails Roundtable Series, a county-wide forum that will serve as a catalyst for trail development of every kind. Officials, trail committees, and the general public are encouraged to attend.

The kick-off Trails Roundtable will be held from 4 pm to 5:30 p.m. in Room C, Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center, at the FDR National Historic Site, 4079 Albany Post Road (Route 9), Hyde Park. Led by Winnakee Land Trust, these Trail Roundtables will be held quarterly to promote trail development and connections. Winnakee is opening a regular forum for cross-municipal cooperation, access to services and expertise, and supporting complementary projects.

In response to a groundswell of interest expressed at the recent Dutchess County Trails Conference, this Roundtable Service is organized by Winnakee and its Steering Committee Partners, including Dutchess County Government, National Park Service, the Towns of Hyde Park and Red Hook, NY/NJ Trails Conference, and the Hudson River Valley Greenway. The possibilities for mutual benefit to projects large and small are tremendous.

Whether you want to propose a short length of hiking trail to your local park or are already well at work establishing regional trails, there is a place for you at the table.

For more information and to RSVP, email Karissa Stokdal at info@winnakeeland.org. Late reservations and walk-ins are welcome.
