Obituary, Raymond Hart

 

Pleasant Valley – Raymond Hart of Pleasant Valley formerly of Poughquag passed away peacefully on December 3, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 85. Born on April 29, 1930 in Yonkers to the late James J. and Mildred Jones Hart. Raymond grew up in Riverdale section of the Bronx and married his sweetheart Carmel M. Collentine on April 18, 1953 at Church of The Good Shepherd in NYC. He was a graduate of the Mechanics Institute in Manhattan, NY and attended Westchester Community College. He worked as a Mechanical Designer for many years at FIS in New Milford, CT. Raymond enjoyed vacationing in Marco Island Florida, woodworking, the New York Jets and Yankees.

He is survived by his loving children Patricia A. Miller and her husband Michael of Wappingers Falls, Raymond J. Hart and his wife Tara of Poughquag, Christopher J. Hart and his wife Margaret of Pleasant Valley, and Brian M. Hart and his wife Dawn of North Carolina. Cherished Grandchildren Lindsay T. Miller, Lauren Miller, Ryan Hart, Tyler Hart, Courtney Hart, Christopher Hart, Allison Hart and Shane Hart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Carmel Hart on February 27, 1995 and his brothers James Hart. The Hart Family wishes to acknowledge and thank Vassar Brothers Hospital for their care for Dad over many years, Don Barbarino, MS for his kindness and assistance, Thomas Guzzardi, MD for his expertise and patience, Sanjaya Jha, MD for his compassion, understanding,and encouragement, and The Pleasant Valley Rescue Squad for their assistance to Dad when it was most needed. Friends may call on Sunday December 6, 2015 from 3-7pm at  900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held Monday December 7, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Pleasant Valley Rescue Squad P.O. Box 417,Pleasant Valley, NY 12569.
