Show Presents Colorful Range of Abstract Acrylics
by Local Painter and Ceramic Artist
Kent, CT. 1 December, 2015. “Pentimento,” a collection of abstract acrylic paintings created by local artist Kathy Wismar will debut at the Gallery at Naples Studio in Kent Green on Saturday evening, December 12, 2005 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. “We’ve combined the opening of Kathy’s show with a Holiday celebration,” noted gallery owner Chris Naples, “to fuse the spirit of the season with her spirited works.”
“I’m pleased to present my new work and am always eager to get comments and observations from those who take time to experience the paintings,” said Wismar. “Artists work alone and the circle around us is small. Although opening up your soul to the public can be daunting, it’s also the best way to understand if what’s in the work is resonating with the observer.”
Kathy Wismar began her career working in clay, building what she calls “functional art.” Her pieces are colorful and beg to be held and used as well as being displayed. Her paintings extend her love of color and are reflective of experiences living both in several US cities as well as her permanent home in Falls Village, CT.
