You may have heard of the new energy radiating on the streets of Amenia. It all started with the opening of Monte’s Local Kitchen & Tap Room- a farm to table restaurant with a very hip bar scene. Soon to follow will be the opening of Monte’s Health Nut Hut- not your ordinary health food store! Monte’s Health Nut Hut will have a convenient bike-up/walk-up window to cater to the Rail Trail crowd, lots of healthy grab and go snacks and drinks and feature local, organic and sustainable products. The mission statement says it all:

-To nourish the mind through the sharing of knowledge
-To nourish the spirit by providing a calm, happy and hopeful environment inside and outside of our four walls”
The Monte’s, five siblings and their spouses, are no strangers to the hospitality world. It all started in Brooklyn in 1906 when their grandparents opened the original Monte’s Italian Restaurant that still exists today! The family ventured out to Montauk, Long Island, when the town was no bigger than Amenia and owned and managed Gurney’s Inn Resort and Spa along with their parents for over fortyfive years. Amenia is the last stop on the Metro North line just as Montauk is the last stop on the Long Island Rail Road. And so the tradition continues…
Monte’s Local Kitchen & Tap Room is located at 3330 Route 343, Amenia, NY and the Health Nut Hut will be opening up right next door at 51 Mechanic Street, Amenia, NY!
Monte’s Health Nut Hut’s grand opening will be held on Sunday, September 6th.
