County to Host 3rd Annual Special Needs Picnic
August 20th at Freedom Park

Poughkeepsie…Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro invites children with special needs, their families and support agencies to a picnic on Thursday, August 20th at Freedom Park, 212 Skidmore Road, in LaGrange from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The picnic is a free event, but reservations are required.

“Our summer picnic program is all about bringing people together,” said County Executive Molinaro. “This picnic is a great opportunity for children with special needs and their families to enjoy a fun filled day of activities. It also gives families a chance to meet new people, make new friends, and share in the joys and challenges of raising these amazing children.”

This year’s picnic is being put on with the assistance of the Dutchess County Department of Community & Family Services, the Department of Health, Office for the Aging, and the Department of Mental Hygiene. The menu for the picnic will include some time tested kid pleasers such as hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, and more! There will be plenty of activities at the event, including live music, dancing, recreational activities, and face painting.

Local companies that are generously sponsoring this event include Rose & Kiernan, Inc., Morris Associates Engineering Consultants, PLLC., and Herb Redl Properties.
