Stormville man dies in fatal Taconic State Parkway collision

PRESS RELEASE

Carmel, New York – The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Cortlandt is investigating a fatal motorcycle / vehicle crash that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Carmel at about 3:35 am this morning, August 30th.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Subaru operated by 40-year-old Melida Espinal of Danbury, Connecticut, entered the northbound lanes of the Taconic, in a southerly direction at Peekskill Hollow Road approximately 8/10 of a mile before crashing head -on with a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle which was traveling northbound. The motorcycle operator, Jeffrey Divine, 22 years old, of Stormville, NY, died at the scene.  The driver of the Subaru, as well as two passengers, were treated for minor injuries. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
